SINT-MARTIENS-LATEM & DEURLE


Auberge du Pêcheur is located in picturesque Deurle, a sub-municipality of Sint-Martens-Latem. In 2008, Deurle was named one of the most beautiful municipalities in Belgium. In other words, a visit to the village center is certainly a must during a stay in our region. In addition, the municipality has much more to offer. You can stroll through the village, visit the Saint Martin's Church, walk past the various museums and artists' homes, and/or be inspired by the picturesque landscape.

KUNSTMUSEA

The river 'Leie' has already been a source of inspiration for many artists. In Deurle and the immediate vicinity, there are several art museums that are undoubtedly worth a visit, with changing exhibitions.

WALK OR CYCLE THROUGH THE LEIE REGION



In the expansive surroundings of Auberge du Pêcheur, there is the opportunity to explore the Lys region and the area around Ghent by bicycle or on foot. Our hotel reception offers you the option to choose from various walking or cycling routes starting from the property or with a short drive. Be sure to ask about the different possibilities.


You can also rent bicycles from us via our partner Fietsen Godefroot. They will deliver the bicycles to our location at your reserved time. Please note: the rental applies exclusively to electric bicycles. Additionally, you are always welcome to bring your own bicycle. You can safely store the bicycles during your stay.

BOAT TRIPS ON THE LEIE



You can also discover the beautiful natural surroundings of Sint-Martens-Latem by boat. From April to the end of October, our partners are happy to welcome you aboard one of the luxury sloops or yachts to take you on a journey of tranquility. If you wish, you can combine a boat trip with lunch or dinner in our brasserie, or an overnight stay in one of our 32 hotel rooms. You can also add a tapas package to your boat trip. OOIDONK CASTLE

In a meander of the Lys, a stone's throw from Ghent, lies the graceful and stately Ooidonk Castle. The surrounding water and the beautiful park exude tranquility and lend the castle a harmonious and peaceful character that almost makes one forget its turbulent history.


This medieval fortified castle is a unique example of Spanish-Flemish Renaissance architecture. The castle was rebuilt in 1595 and is considered one of the most beautiful castles in Belgium. With its distinctive stepped gables and onion-shaped towers, this East Flemish gem is in no way inferior to the imposing castles of the Loire.
